Ron Ball and Dr. Bill Goodman founded Goodman Ball, Inc (GBI) in 1981 as a manufacturer of spare military equipment for the U.S. Government. In 1997, GBI was acquired by C.E. Niehoff and Co. and is a wholly owned subsidiary.

Located in Menlo Park, California, GBI has over 35, 000 square feet of design, engineering and manufacturing facilities at it's disposal. GBI's in-house capabilities include CNC machining and industrial or military finishing. In addition, GBI has extensive assembly and test experience in mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies. GBI also performs these functions under full ISO 9001 compliance.

Since its' inception, GBI has continued to provide spare military equipment, but has also expanded its' range of products to include water purification units and power generation equipment. Today, GBI is leading the field in designing and producing diesel generators ranging from 2k - 10 kW units that are compact, rugged and state-of-the-art. These generators have far reaching military and emergency services applications for both U.S. and foreign governments.
